August Long Fun

So while I wait for my sisters to email me their pictures from all my sweet days at Tally I will blog about my awesome (read busy) long weekend. I worked Thursday night and after a short nap on Friday morning work up to pack up and head to Jasper. We spent two nights there with friends and had a great time!!

We got there around 4:30 on Friday just at the end of a rainstorm. Lucky for us it was beautiful weather the rest of the time we were there. We set up camp and started a fire. We roasted some wieners and the kids played in the stream. We spent the rest of the evening hanging out around the fire. The boys had to go on long trips to find wood and the Quinn was filthy. After the kids went to bed we roasted smores and laughed way too much until it was time for bed. There is nothing better than sitting around a campfire with friends. No electronic distractions. So nice.

We woke up saturday morning bright and early. Thanks to Quinn and warmed up around the fire. We waited to find out if we had to move campsites and when we did we quickly packed up moved sites and reset up. Then we headed out for ice cream and to hike maligne canyon. I seriously love that place. Quinn and Gunnar were pretty good hikers and it was fun. Then we headed out to bake in the heat and hot water at the hot springs. Way too many inappropriate swim suits there. We wandered Jasper and then headed back to the campsite to go to bed.

Sunday morning we packed up. Ran into some elk in the middle of our campsite. Had an unfortunate meeting with J.T. (Ty's old boss...) at Timmys and hit the road. It was such a fun vacation but so good to be home and sit on our butts and watch Olympics.

Then Sunday evening I got to meet Brady! Mal and Bee were in town and came over for a visit. There is nothing better than meeting up with old friends. We haven't seen each other for a long time but we talked and laughed just like the good old days. These two were some of my best friends in high school. We spent every lunch hour together as well as sport trips, student council, and everything you do in high school. I love them both! Brady is Mal's new little man and he is so handsome. I loved holding him and seeing Mal be a momma. She is so good at it!

Then Monday we made a quick trip to Heritage Days. It was HOT HOT HOT so we ate quick and headed back home to watch the women's soccer game. BOO Refs!! We spent the evening at home with Q playing in the pool, us going for runs, and just relaxing. Perfect End to a Perfect Weekend.

Tyler was too tired to make it to the bathroom...
jks. Quinn sat on him with her wet swim diaper.

Haha ya I was going to mention the same thing. I can't believe how big Quinn is- she has real little girl hair! She is darling and must be so much fun with her talking. We will be home the last half of August, let me know if you have any trips for down south planned, okay??
