A Two Year Old

It's official. I have a 2 year old. Crazy. Literally. I can't believe it has been 2 years since this amazing little miracle was born. All fat and new and innocent. It's crazy to think how much has changed and how much I love my little terrorist.

On January 5 we celebrated Quinn's 2nd birthday. We started out the day opening presents from grandparents and mom and dad. She of course got spoiled as usual and is loving all her new toys.  After a nice long nap we headed over to the Terwillegar Rec Center with some of her friends, and their parent of course, for a swim. This girl is a fish. She could swim for hours and the phrase "more slide please" was repeated often. Luckily we dodged the vomit in the pool and had a great time!

She also "helped" make her own cake. This girl loves to cook.

After swimming we all came back here for some pizza and cake. Tannis came over for the fun too! Tyler and I (mostly Tyler) slaved away on this Minnie Mouse cake and it turned out amazing! We were pretty proud of it and Quinn loved it and talked about it for days afterward. Quinny had a great time playing with friends and overall I'd say it was a pretty great birthday.

Some random facts about Quinn at 2 years old:

-Talks up a storm. Seriously she copies everything we say. Some of her best phrases are Hi Daddy/Mommy. What you doing?, In a minute, Sorry Mommy, Go away Rocko, NO WAY, Oh Dear, More ____ please, sit/dance/play with me and I'm 2.
-She also knows the names and sounds of pretty much every animal, knows most of her shapes, is working on colors, knows peoples names and can count to 14 (she misses 4).
-She loves books again. Her favorites right now are Old Hat, New Hat (she literally has this memorized and can read it) and Blue Hat Green Hat. Pretty much any Sandra Boynton book.
-She loves TV. We try to limit it. She loves Mickey Mouse, Jake & the Neverland Pirates (Yo-Ho Pirate), Strawberry Shortcake, Tangled, and Stella & Sam
-She loves to help.
-She loves to build towers and play with blocks, taking care of her babies, and anything Mickey or Minnie.
-Still loves water. Baths, swimming, showers.
-Is a magician with the Iphone/Ipad
-Loves Nursery and playing with friends.
-Loves her Daddy. (I think she would pick him over me anytime.)
-Loves snacks especially raisins, dried mangos, fruit snacks, ritz bitz and chocolate granola bars
-She sleeps from 8 PM to 7 AM (I wish she would sleep in!) and takes one 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon. She still needs her soother, blanket, Mickey and Puppy to sleep.
-Loves to Dance.
-Likes to look at old pictures/videos of "baby Quinny", or anyone she knows.
-Learning manners. Can say please, thank-you, and excuse me.
-We are thinking about potty training. So far when I ask her if she wants to pee on the potty she screams "No Way". So maybe not?

This girl is busy busy busy and pretty much never sits still! We love our little two year old and are going to savour the next 6 months we have with just her. Happy Birthday Quinny! We love you!
