Christmas craziness

For Christmas this year my whole family decided it would be a great idea to congregate in Edmonton...at my house! It all started when Tyler and I decided to stay home for Christmas. Tannis had to work Christmas so we told her and Nathan they could come over and celebrate with us. Elise then decided she would rather risk having her baby in Edmonton than lethbridge and said she was coming also. My mom didn't want to be left out so she decided to come too. Finally after hearing all of us would be together on Christmas and not wanting to be left out Danielle decided she was coming too. And there you have it. 10 adults, 5 kids, and 3 dogs enjoying Christmas together in my tiny house!

The fun began on Monday the 22. Moments after finishing cleaning my house Danielle and Elise arrived and it was a disaster again. That day we hung out, went to the mall to find Muffy a swim suit and went to my bball game. I sadly forgot my shorts so had to play in sweats until Nathan brought new ones. Sadly Tannis came from work and forgot hers and had to play in my sweats!

Meanwhile Tyler, Denton, and Tim had met up with Darcy and were enjoying a beautiful day on the slopes.

The next day was busy busy. We did a lot of hot tubbing.

Then while the babies and prego Elise napped we took the old kids sledding. The hill was a bit icy so you definitely got some speed. Quinn was a little scared and preferred going down with another person but Cohen and Mason loved it!

After sledding we moved onto our next activity of making gingerbread houses. The kids loved it. Scar was less than helpful and Elise had a really hard time keeping her house up. Luckily Tyler saved the day.

Christmas Eve was spent at the WEM water park. It was so much fun! It was pretty much empty and the guy didn't make us pay for our kids. Totally worth it. We had a great adult to kid ratio so we all got to ride lots of slides. Quinn got really confident after Cohen taught he how to swim and was swimming around without water wings! She was also so brave and rode lots of the slides herself. Her favorite was definitely the kids area though. The boys also got to try out the new surfing exhibit for free! It was pretty sweet. We left the pool exhausted! Then headed home for Chinese food.

After supper we opened the new pjs from
our elves. Sparkle and Bust. Sprinkled reindeer food on the lawn. Found out where Santa was. Read the nativity story and the kids headed to bed.

The adults spent the rest of the evening wrapping presents, watching a Christmas story, and playing dance dance. Too much fun! We are pretty lucky we all get along so well!

Christmas morning was pure and utter chaos! I didn't see what anyone else got and the kids were crazy but it was fun! Quinny got her beloved pretend kitty with a toy and Scarlett got a little people princess castle which they both love. Tyler spoiled me with a new watch and some lulu clothes and Tyler of course got his beloved glove and blocker.

The rest of the day was spent lounging. Then my mom made an amazing Christmas dinner. And we got to talk to Carson! Man I miss that kid!

Later that evening we drove down candy cane lane and enjoyed the lights there then went over to the legislature for more lights. It was nice to get the kids and dogs out of the house and the lights were beautiful.

The next day we got up bright and early to do some serious shopping. The boys door crashes for guns at cabellas then the girls headed to WEM. Tannis was a trooper and met us after her mighty shift! We got some great deals! But the mall was insane!

We just hung out around the house for the rest of the day. Hot tubbed and played with toys. After we put the babies to bed I picked up a babysitter and we went out for date night. Soda jerks and bowling. Love my sisters and that they all chose nice husbands! Too much fun!

The Scows left us early the next morning to beat a wicked winter storm and the wrights left the next day after Tim and Tyler's movie date. It was so fun to have everyone together! I'm so grateful that my family all makes it a priority to spend time together. Love them! Can't wait till February!!
